WHAT IS COPYRIGHT LAW?		HOW DID YOU KEEP TO COPYRIGHT LAW IN THE AUDIO AND VISUAL ELEMENTS OF YOUR PRODUCTION?
The copyright law is a law which states, that a creators product, shall not be copied by another person, such as an idea being stolen for someone else’s product to make money, if this issue does occur, there will be a lawsuit in order. People who make a product can copyright things such as, song lyrics, ideas for products, certain designs, logos, etc, as long as it is made by them.		We needed a lot of permission when we were in the production part of the music video, an example was when one person in the group asked permission, through the internet to the artist of the song, so that we could use her song for the music video, another example was when we asked for the people in the cast to be in the video, so we had the two people in the couple that we needed, we also needed to ask for permission for places to use for our music video, such as we needed to ask some people if we needed permission to use places such as Bens house at 1:18 and the owners of the house said it was okay to use the area to film.

OFCOM REGULATION	DESCRIBE THE PARTS OF THE CODE RELEVANT TO MUSIC VIDEO PRODUCTION		HOW DID YOU KEEP TO IT IN YOUR PRODUCTION?
PROTECTING UNDER 18s	In the production of a music video, anyone involved that is under the age of 18 should be protected from anything harmful that could possibly trouble them and involves them from staying away from any sexual behaviour, violence or strong language that could be in the music video.		When we were making our music video we made sure that everyone in the video (since everyone was under 18) since there was no violence, strong language or sexual behaviour in the video, so everyone in the cast and crew was safe from anything that  would trouble them, at 0:02, you could see that one of them was swearing, but we made sure that she was fine with doing it, and throughout the rest of the music video, there was no other strong language used in the production part of it.
HARM AND OFFENCE	Harm and offence is when there are standards put when making a music video, to protect everyone in the cast and crew, from any sort of harmful or offensive material.		In the production of our music video, we all made sure that every single person working in the cast and crew, were protected from anything that would have been harmful to them, such as sharp objects, dangerous areas, etc. Our group also made sure that there was nothing in the video that would possibly offend any members of the cast and crew, by checking if there was anything that could be offensive before filming, and everyone seemed fine with it. We also were careful when filming in some areas, such as at 0:25, we made sure that there was no possibility that the actress did not fall when doing the shots, so she could be safe and not get injured.
CRIME	Crime is when filming we make sure that there is nothing that happens in the production of the video that is any sort of criminal behaviour, such as hate speech, terrorism, abuse, etc. By doing this we make sure that nobody of the public feels threatened or harmed by any members of the cast and crew, if a case does occur where any sort of crime is done, it will be reported and dealt with.		There was only one crime actually done when we were filming for the music video, which was filming in Trafalgar Square at 1:57, where we managed to film very quickly, but then got told off by a guard, and then we left.
FAIRNESS	When filming with others, the broadcaster will make sure that every single person in the cast and crew is treated equally, and no one is treated different from another so that they will all feel like they are treated the same. This can apply to making sure everyone gets paid the right amount, no one is discriminated, and no one is talked to differently than others.		Throughout the whole production part of making the music video, we all made sure that every single person in the making of it was treated equally by other people, we all made sure that no one is treated differently such as at 0:10 we made one of the actresses get smacked in the face, but we treated everyone equally and made it not that hard of a smack, and also no one is treated unfairly, compared to others, since we all treated everyone the same with respect.
PRIVACY	Privacy basically covers a lot such as public places, private lives, etc. OFCOM does allow people to be able to use certain places; however they have to be able to have permission to use a certain area, by doing this when filming no one else is allowed to enter which makes people feel more safe in the area when filming, which makes them feel like no one will interrupt the filming process. This also covers over people who are under the age of 16 and will make sure that they are safe at all times, and are with a parent or guardian to take care of them.		When we were doing the filming for our music video, we made sure that we had permission to use some of the areas that we wanted to use, such as when we were outside Bens house at 1:52, we made sure that no one would interrupt the filming process, and everyone was safe in the area that they were in.
INSURANCE
TYPE OF INSURANCE	DESCRIBE WHAT THE TYPE OF INSURANCE COVERS		HOW WOULD IT HAVE AFFECTED YOUR PRODUCTION MANAGEMENT?
PUBLIC LIABILITY	Also known as the third party liability, this protects people from possible injury, or any damage that could happen to people’s properties. An example of public liability would be if you set up some equipment and that equipment falls and injures someone, they could claim against you for compensation		When we were setting up the equipment, we made sure that none of it, such as the camera/tripod fell on any of the members of the cast or crew, such as when we were doing the shots of one of the actresses face at 2:10, we made sure that the camera did not fall onto her and it didn’t, so gladly nobody got injured in the process of filming.
COMPLETION	Completion insurance which is also known as delayed completion, goes over income loss and additional expenses that might cause something that goes wrong with making the music video, such as if one of the main actors ends up getting injured, you would have to reshoot with a different actor to take their place.		When we were doing our music video, on the day when we were re shooting the scenes about the story between the two actresses at 0:08 and 1:55, one of them got injured before that day, so we had to replace them with another actress that looked similar, an example would be at 1:48 you could see we changed one of the actresses but it is not that noticeable, which was intended

WHAT IS THE ROLE OF BECTU IN MEDIA PRODUCTION?		HOW MUCH WOULD THE CREW FOR YOUR MUSIC VIDEO HAVE COST IF YOU HAD PAID BECTU RATES? (ITEMISE EACH ROLE AND THE NUMBER OF DAYS YOU FILMED/EDITED)
BECTU is the entertainment trade union, and is also the media in the entire UK; they cover broadcasting, films, theatre, digital media and more. BECTU provide a wide range of services to people, such as talking about payment and safety with the employees, and more. They are committed to give everyone at the workplace equality, and gives everyone equal opportunities.		Editors: £1500 for 10 hours. £1500 divided by 10 which is = £150/hour times 20 hour (our production) = £3000 Camera Operators: £371 for 10hours. £371 divided by 10 which is =37.10/hour times 23 hour (our production hour) = £853.30 Director: £657 for 10 hours.£371 divided by 10 which is = £65.70/hour times by 23 hour (our production hour) = £1511.10 Lighting Technician: £395 for 10hour. £395 divided by 10 which is = £39.50/hour times by 20 hours (our production hour) = £790 Location Manager: £240 for 10hour. £240 divided by 10 which is - £24/hour times 4 hours (our production hour) = £96

This was the final week we had to finish the editing of our music video, we managed to finish it all on Monday. Everybody in the group managed to be there for the final day of editing, so me, Ben and Franki all put our effort to finish the music video, which took a very long time. When finishing the music video we added all the scenes that we had to re shoot, due to them not being as good as we planned them to be, when adding all the shots to the mac, it took a lot of time for it to render.

We had to put all the shots together, making sure that they all catted to the beat and synced in right with the music, so the music video will look more professional, it was a very easy process, since there was not problems that we had to face, it was one of those situations where we had to just finish adding everything together, with no problems at all.

Since this was the last day that we had to finish the editing for the music video, we all had to stay after school, to finish everything for the music video, and get it just as we plan it to be, which got us excited to see how it will actually turn out to look like in the end. While waiting for everything to render, we had literally nothing to do, so we had some time to talk and go on our phones.

When the rendering finally finished, we showed our music video to Miss Lowndes and she told us that apparently there was two scenes that did not fit in with the music, which then we quickly changed, and after that we managed to finally  managed to finish our music video.

This week, my group was very busy with both editing and filming, the whole group, including the cast and crew had to film on Saturday, since that was the only day we were allowed to film, and re shoot all of the scenes that we thought were not as good as we planned, we had to re shoot all the scenes that had the memories of the two girls in the couple. we managed to finish every single scene that we needed and now we just need to put them in the music video, in the following week.

For the whole week we had only two people in our group, since one of the people in the group Ben, had a headache, and was not able to come in for the lessons, so me and Franki had to edit for the whole week, and we did a pretty good job, we managed to cut to the beat with every shot and added some color frames to the shots, to make it look better and fit with the music. such as the scenes that had a little but of a pink filter fitted with the instrumental and the shot to make our music video look even better.

When me and Franki showed our work to miss Lowndes, she told us that the whole thing was good, but we still just needed to get those un filmed parts done, but so far everything that we had done was good. On Friday, both Ben and Franki, were not in the lesson, since both of them were ill, which left me to do the work by myself. Since there was really not that much for me to do that lesson, since the only thing we need to do is the re shooting and adding them to the film, I just went over the music video, to see if there were any mistakes, and there was one scene that did not cut to the beat, so I changed that, and then Mr Phillipson showed our work to another group and told them that is how their work should be, after that he told me that the work was distinction level currently, which gave me and my group more confidence and now we look forward to see how the movie will look when finished.  Currently we would say that the music video is 95% done, with everything in the right place, all we need to do is add the scenes we done on Saturday.

This week was all about editing, since throughout Monday to Friday me,Ben and Franki have been working on the editing for the music video that we are making. Throughout the week, me, Ben and Franki each took turns every day on who would do most of the editing, there was one day, which was Wednesday, that Franki had to go to the dentist, which was unfortunate, Ben was there but he had a massive headache, so he was unable to do the work, which was also unfortunate, with those two in mind I had to be in charge of continuing the editing, when I was doing the editing, I managed to do quite a lot, on the other days of the week we all were able to do the editing, and it seemed like a simple process since we all knew what to do, but there was one thing that was a problem and we found it annoying to do, and that was rendering the video every time we do something, this took a long process since we had to wait a long time, usually 10-12 minutes and got annoying sometimes.

Since we had to do the editing, we had to listen to the song many, many times, and by now we got kind of tired of listening to it multiple times, and we had to re watch the whole music video over and over again, to check if we made any mistakes, and so we could check what the music video actually looked like, we did find out that one shot in the music video did not sync in with the music, so we had to quickly change that to make it fit in with the music. 

We tried our best to cut to the beat with the music video, since sir told us to do it multiple times, and it was very important since it made the music video look a lot better, we managed to do it so well that sir used our music video as an example for the other groups in our class, which gave us more confidence to finish our music video to see how it will look like in the end, so far we think it looks really good and we would say it is currently 75% done, and we will probably finish it next week.

This week was a very busy week for my group, because we had to re shoot some scenes for our music video, since one of the girls in the music video had some family problems, so we couldn't film all of the shots in the music video that we needed. luckily we managed to be able to film everything that we needed to film on Monday.  When we were filming, one of the actresses in the couple fell out and was not able to film, so we needed to find a new actress, which we did and filmed everything that we needed to film.

When it got to Tuesday, my group started editing in every media lesson that we were given, so we could edit as much as we could in the time that we had. From Tuesday to Friday, we edited in all of the lessons,which contained a lot of rendering which took a long time to finish. While editing we discussed, as a group about how we could improve the music video, and we had to check if we needed to re shoot any scenes, that did not seem right. we all managed to do our part in the editing, since we took turns each lesson on who did most of the editing. On Thursday the two other people in my group; Ben and Franki managed to do more editing in one of their free periods, which lead to my group having 30% of the editing of the music video finished. Next week me and my group are planning to do the re filming for some scenes in the music video, that we found were not filmed exactly as planned, and we are planning to continue editing the music video as much as possible, with the time that we are given.

This week has been a very busy week for the whole group, cast members and crew members, since me, Ben and Franki, Farheen and Tara  had to do filming on multiple days throughout the whole week, and we all had to check if everyone, even the people in the cast, was able to film on certain days of the week, sometimes we only got to film on certain days of the week, since not everyone was free the whole holiday. The days that we filmed were Monday and Wednesday since those were the only two days that everyone in the group was free and was able to film.

The whole group had some problems filming the music video, and had to film very late so we can get the right lighting that we needed, and went to sou. We managed to film as many shots for the music video as we could in London, but sadly our group was not able to finish every single shot in the shooting script due to severe circumstances, since one of the girls in couple for the music video had family issues so we were not able to finish filming the music video in the time that we planned. We were not able to finish since we still needed the scenes with her, but sadly we were not able to film in the time that we were given. The group was able to film most of the scenes in the shooting script, but due to all the problems that we had, we were not able to film every single shot in the music video, with the time that we were given.

This week, I helped my group finish all the work, that was due for this week, such as a production log, as I mentioned what shots I think could be in the music video, I did two blogs, that was part of the six blogs that we had to do, for the media project, such as wavier for cast, call sheets, risk assessment, and job roles and responsibilities. When discussing the ideas for the shots for the shooting script we all decided what locations should be used in certain shots, and the reason why we chose those certain shots, since some areas would give a certain feeling more, rather than other areas.

When we were making the shooting script, all three of the members of the  group came up with multiple shots that could be included in the music video, and then we went with the best ideas out of the three, we did this so that we could visualize happening in the music video, at the same time we were listening to the song chosen for the music video so that we can see what each shot in the music video would be like, when we were making the shooting script

Throughout the week, I have been messaging the other people in my group, so we could all make sure that everyone has done the work that they were each given to do, and when we all said that we finished the work that we were given, we checked on all of the pieces of work, then put it on our own blogs.

1) The first location we will be using will be Southend Beach, this location will be used during the introduction of the music video, and will run throughout the flashback and the final scenes. The relevance to the beach was that it would be a good sunset location to film the break-up, by using it through a happy flashback scene it adds further relevance as it was the spot of happier times. As well as leaving it till the very ending scene which again will connote the ending of the relationship and how the character will always be left alone.
In terms of practicality it is a public area so no permission is needed for filming, it is a case of finding a quite segment of the beach and one with a good clear background.










2) The next location we will use in Southend will be the town, this will only be used for a couple of scenes and will feature during a flashback. The relevance was just to portray a happy memory of the 2 characters in their relationship.
Filming this scene in Southend town was more for logistical reasons, we would be able to film during the day and still stay within a reasonable proximity as we needed various other settings within the same location.
Once again it was a public place which meant no permission was needed, the only problems that could potentially occur is the weather and the amount of people in the town.

3) Southend Pier would be the final location within Southend, this again would be used as another happy memory for a flashback scene. We felt we could still film a good scene in this location whilst still staying within Southend.
In this sense making the decision to film on the Pier was more about logistics and that it was easier to use the whole of  Southend as opposed to limiting ourselves to just one locations.







4) We had numerous locations around London, one of which being southbank. We are actually planning on filming 2 separate locations within Southbank, the first being a bench next to the Themes (as seen in the picture.) This was at the start of the first verse, and it was really to start the journey that the artist will go through over the whole night. The next location within Southbank was a bridge (in the picture.) The relevance to this location, was because it was only a needed to shoot a handful of shots and really adds this effect of the character looking out into her city and trying to see past her own little world that she has wrapped her self in.












5) London, Piccadilly circus was the next location for our second verse, we illustrate only a couple of shots, the relevance of this location, was the fact that it is a very busy location. With some editing we would be able to continue this sense of the character being all alone in the world, even thought there are many people around her she is immersed in her own failed relationship.
in retrospect the group feels that the location is a good idea, because our scene we plan to film there does carry much relevance to the story, and we didn't particularly feel that the audience will think its just a filler shot. We hope that the audience will understand what we tried to achieve by using this location.




6) london, Green park, (looking at the picture), we felt that this was a perfect spot to add in our performance element to our music video, it was a location that we instantly knew we can add a lot of camera movement too, and really make perhaps one of the most disinterested aspects more enjoyable.
We feel that some of our shots, using this location will be a bold move, as a park doesnt really fit in with any other locations, but we felt that it was very close to our others and it was a smart move in terms of practicality.

7) We then decided to also use Trafalgar Square, this was the plan to use for the final verse, as we really wanted to illustrate the characters raw emotions and pain to the audience, and we felt it was still an iconic location, but we could really film her to be in great distress.
Technically we felt that this location was a good idea, whilst being able to reveal where she was, and film such intense scenes, the location really enables us to do many different things, with this final verse.

8) Another location in London we decided to use was Buckingham palace, through the second verse, we decided to use this location to add our first peace of performance in to the video.

Whilst we wanted the scene in this location to just feature the artist and no one else, we do understand that this location is very busy. So on the technicality side of things, this location will really test our camera language and our knowledge of how we can use certain angles to get the right shot an eliminate the public. 

9) Bens house, this location would be used, for the flashback scenes, its primary function was to stage the fight scenes that happen between the 2 characters to show the struggles that they continuously had and the strain of the relationship. 

The house, isn't particularly far from any of the cast or crew so it was a good location to film and there won't be any problems filming.  Whilst it may be the most simplest location of all, it is needed as it just adds continuity to the whole video, which i stop illustrate the fight scenes to the audience to show that there was some really hard, frustrating times for both characters. 

10)  St Pauls Cathedral, this location in london, was to be used to add another performance element to our music video, we felt that we had a lot of narrative in our original idea. As a group we came to the decision that we should be adding in more locations and more performance. We felt that this location (in the picture) on the stairs as the artists cries and shows her raw emotions, we can still edit and cut to certain shots where she can also be performing some of the verse. 

In terms of practicality it is not that far away from the Southbank locations we will be using, so in terms of logistics we won't have to constantly travel by train to go to locations that are very far apart. instead all of ours are close together which makes it much easier to film.

Our entire music video is completely filmed in public places, and requires no permission for any filming. Here is a list of all the places we will be filming.

As listed we are planning to film in 10 different locations. As the idea basis itself on the themes of walking, being alone in the world, and in a depressive state, it felt that using iconic locations around london, was a good way to express, that whilst there are so many people around the character she is still alone in her own world. Which is the main reason for keeping all locations public. 

From a logistical point of view, having all the locations in public areas means that we can turn up, point and shoot with no problems affecting our schedule.

Whilst perhaps some may perceive all of these locations as being to simple as they are all public, The very essence was to keep the video simple and solely focus on the persona, the video is a journey of her emotional state through one night. So it only made sense for her to be walking in public areas.
